Bangladesh's railway companion app — schedules, fares, and live delay reports from the community.

Overview

A bilingual (Bengali/English) travel companion for Bangladesh Railway passengers, currently in private beta. Built on React Native and Expo with a Supabase backend, real-time community delay reporting, and a verified schedule dataset covering 137 trains across 1,225 stops. I own the product, architecture, and engineering end to end — this is NAVICORE's flagship venture and the reason Navicore Software exists as a funding engine behind it.

Challenges

• • Delivering reliable real-time data (schedules, delays) to passengers on inconsistent mobile connections across Bangladesh
• • Building trust in community-reported delay data without it being gameable or noisy
• • Shipping a genuinely bilingual product rather than an English app with a translation layer bolted on

Solutions

• • Background sync + local caching so the app stays fast and usable even when connectivity drops mid-session
• • Structured delay reports tied to specific train/route/time combinations rather than free-text, keeping signal high
• • Bengali and English built into the data and UI layer from day one, not retrofitted

Future Improvements

• • Expand coverage to all Bangladesh Railway routes with live delay tracking on every line
• • Public launch out of private beta once schedule reliability is validated at scale
• • Use RailMate's validation as the gate for starting FlyMate and TravelMate, per NAVICORE's sequencing model
